California suncup can be found on San Bruno Mountain's dunes. It is an annual in the evening primrose family, and has bright yellow flowers from March to July. It is low-growing and spreads outwards, from a central point. It is usually a Southern California species, and how it got to San Bruno Mountain is a mystery to all.
