**THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED**
Join San Bruno Mountain Watch and San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control on Saturday February 6th to collect ticks for tick-borne disease testing. No experience necessary - participants will be supplied with all equipment and training needed.
Ticks collected during the event will be tested for the bacteria known to cause tick-borne illnesses, including Lyme disease. In past years, between 1% and 3% of western black-legged ticks (Ixodes pacificus) collected within the county by San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District tested positive for one or more tick-borne diseases.
Save the date: Saturday February 6th from 8am-12pm.
You must sign up for this Citizen Science event to ensure that there will be adequate equipment for everyone. RSVP at this event's Citizen Science Facebook page, or email the coordinator Megan Caldwell directly, or phone (650) 344-8592.
