Joe Cannon, instructor in Ecology and Human Biology at San Francisco City College, leads this interesting hike focusing on the ecology of San Bruno Mountain, and this region, as seen through the eyes of an experienced restoration ecologist. San Bruno Mountain supports varied habitats and is home to many of the plant species, both common and rare, that are endemic (or were at one time) to the San Francisco Peninsula. Joe is the previous Stewardship Director for Mountain Watch and has been involved with the Mountain for many years.
Hike meets at the San Bruno Mountain Watch office at 44 Visitacion in Brisbane. Bring water, a hat, sunscreen, lunch, and dress in layers.
