This event is hosted by San Bruno Mountain Watch and the California Native Plant Society - Yerba Buena Chapter as part of California Biodiversity Day.
Help remove invasive weeds like poison hemlock, mustard, bristly ox-tongue, and pincushion plants from the base of Buckeye Canyon! The canyon was damaged by winter storms that caused landslides and erosion. Controlling the invasive plants that have emerged in these impacted areas will help native plants re-establish.
Directions:
1) From Bayshore Blvd, turn onto Valley Drive, the entrance to Crocker Industrial Park in Brisbane.
2) Drive down Valley Drive and turn left at the stoplight at the intersection of Valley Drive and South Hill Drive
3) Drive a very short distance on South Hill Drive; as the road begins to curve, immediately after a pedestrian crosswalk, you'll see a steep driveway on your left with potholes. Turn into that steep driveway and drive up to reach Quarry Road
4) At the top of the driveway, make a broad left turn or U-turn to park parallel to the concrete drainage ditch on the side of the road. You'll see a trailhead with two signs ("San Bruno Mountain Ecological Reserve" and "Boundary Ecological Reserve"). (Google Map)
