Could you imagine multi-story apartment buildings and shopping centers bustling with up to 40,000 people on top of San Bruno Mountain? Or the mountain ridge cut down and flattened, with 350 million cubic yards of its rocks dumped into SF Bay for fill?
Those were some of the plans 50 years ago which brought together grassroots community groups to SAVE SAN BRUNO MOUNTAIN! The battles over the mountain were hard fought and have resulted in over 2,500 acres of preserved parkland.
Join San Bruno Mountain Watch for the final celebration of San Bruno Mountain Fest 2020 on May 2nd at the 50th anniversary Gala Fest! Help support the next 50 years as you enjoy a lovely evening with our community members, volunteers, sponsors, board, staff, and government officials from local cities, San Mateo County, and the California State Legislature.
Through San Bruno Mountain Fest 2020, we invite you to learn more about the courageous efforts made by many over the past 50 years on behalf of the mountain, to gain a deeper appreciation for this incredible biodiversity hotspot and historical landmark right here in the middle of our concrete jungle, and explore our visions for the next 50 years!
