Saturday stewards will be working at the Colma Creek Headwaters removing cape ivy (Delairea odorata) and bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare). Mountain Watch has a long history in the restoration of this area and was involved in the Colma Creek Restoration Project for many years. Former Stewardship Director Joe Cannon worked this area for many years with the help of his CCSF ecology students.
The photo shows Colma Creek after clearing and erosion control, but just at the beginning of restoration plantings. Come see what it looks like now!
Meet in the parking lot at the main entrance to San Bruno Mountain State & County Park. Ariel will distribute free parking passes to volunteers once they arrive.
If you have questions, email Stewardship Coordinator Ariel Cherbowsky at ariel@mountainwatch.org.
